Rajarshi Shahu Government Servants' Co-operative Bank Limited, Kolhapur was established on 3rd July, 1917. Late Chhatrapati Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj of Kolhapur and his associate Late Bhaskarrao Jadhav laid the foundation stone of the Employees Credit Co-operative Society Ltd. for the betterment of the employees. Further, The Bank was renamed as Rajarshi Shahu Government Servants' Co-operative Bank Limited, Kolhapur. In the year 2010 in respect of Chhatrapati Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj.
The Bank, as a Salary Earners Co-Operative Bank is rendering services to the employees of the Maharashtra State Government. It also serves the retired employees of the Maharashtra State Government. Profitability is not the only motto, as the focus is to serve the financial and other needs of members as well as their families.
Currently, Bank is having 21932 members with strong Capital base of Rs. 18.06 Cr, Reserve & Surplus Rs. 24.58 Cr, Deposits Rs. 179.44 Cr, Advances Rs. 124.89 Cr, with Audit class 'A'.
The Bank has shown remarkable growth in last decade, possible only with the continuous unstinted support of members, well wishers, depositors, employees and active participation of all directors.
It has expanded its business through its thirteen branches and Head Office spread over urban areas of Kolhapur, Sangli, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Satara, Solapur and Pune district. It has also proposed to seek the permission for expanding its area of operation to all the urban areas of the state. |
